Diagnostics
We want you to make the best decision for your teeth. In order for you to know all the options we must spend time informing you of your dental health. During your exam we will use many diagnostic measures to evaluate your needs. These include radiographs, photographs, intraoral camera, and detailed impressions of your teeth if needed. You will also receive an extensive clinical exam that includes an evaluation of tooth decay, comprehensive periodontal evaluation, and oral cancer screening. Our patients often want to improve the beauty of their teeth so we will also evaluate any cosmetic concerns and discuss the many procedures we can use to transform your smile.
Intraoral camera
With the use of our intraoral camera you will have the opportunity to see your teeth on a monitor in front of you. This is also a wonderful way to see before and after images of your smile. During your examination we will use this camera to show you a close up image of any dental needs you may have. This camera allows you to become more involved and informed of your needs and thus make better decisions for your treatment.
Laser/Technology
Today’s patients place a high value on healthy, attractive teeth. Early detection of tooth decay is essential to the care of your teeth. The DIAGNOdent laser allows us to find cavities before they get large. This enables you to keep your teeth strong and healthy for a lifetime. If you want to learn more about the laser, you can visit the company’s web site here.
Cleanings and Periodontal Care
Routine visits with our hygienists will ensure your smile will stay healthy and beautiful for a lifetime. We believe that your oral health is connected to your entire body health. Our hygienists will spend time educating you about dental hygiene and the great benefits regular care will provide you. If you require significant periodontal treatment we will develop a treatment program that will restore your oral health. We also offer a broad selection of the finest dental care products to assist with your daily home care.
Veneers
Some of the most beautiful smiles are created with veneers. Laminate veneers are thin ceramic shells that are bonded directly to your teeth. These restorations will dramatically change the shade and shape of your teeth. We can often use veneers to close spaces, lighten teeth, and give the appearance of straight teeth.
Teeth Whitening
Our whitening process can quickly transform the shade of your teeth to give you a brighter, whiter smile. We offer a daytime or nighttime bleaching technique that will not damage your teeth or gums. During the process we will monitor your shade changes and answer any questions you may have. Our technique is customized to meet your individual needs and desires.
Some of the benefits of teeth whitening:
- Used to enhance a naturally beautiful smile
- Remove stains and discolorations
- Reduces or eliminates antibiotic staining
- Utilized as a combination therapy with other cosmetic services
- People feel better about themselves when they whiten their teeth-you’re happy and we’re happy for you!
Implants
If you have a missing tooth and are looking for options we suggest asking us about dental implants. In many cases of missing teeth the best treatment option is a dental implant.
Why dental implants?
- Preserve bone in the jaws that
sustains youthful and healthy facial features - Completely replaces a missing tooth or several teeth
- Preserve healthy teeth
- Allow you to eat what you want
- Improved quality of life
- An alternative to dentures
- Provide better retention for existing dentures
Crowns and bridges
When teeth are fractured, severely discolored, or missing the best option may be a crown or bridge. Crowns are used to restore individual teeth and bridges are used to replace missing teeth if implants are not an option. We can also use crowns and bridges to straighten the appearance of teeth if orthodontic care is not chosen. Many times we will use crowns as the best cosmetic option for a patient and the results are beautiful.
Root Canal Therapy
If you require root canal treatment we will be able to meet your needs. Our office offers the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques when performing endodontics. Root canal therapy is often required for teeth with damaged nerves. Deep cavities, broken teeth, and large fillings are some of the common factors that lead to injured nerves. We understand the apprehension that some patients may have so it is our goal to relax you as much as possible with our anesthesia techniques that may include nitrous or “laughing gas”.
Partials and Dentures
When partials and dentures are required to replace teeth we utilize the most realistic restorations available. It is our desire that you have great fitting restorations and are able to eat the foods you choose. Our office has decades of experience fabricating natural and good fitting dentures and partials.
Sleep apnea and snoring
Interrupted sleep and snoring can be a serious burden on your health and lifestyle. As a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Dr. Roger Bohannan has studied extensively on dental intervention used in the treatment of sleep apnea. We will often coordinate our treatment with a sleep clinic and physician so that a proper diagnosis is made. The dental appliance we offer can gently open your airway so that you can breathe peacefully during the night. Patients and spouses also enjoy the decrease in snoring this appliance gives them. Who would guess that a great night’s sleep could come from your dentist?
Tmj
Many people suffer from joint dysfunction in their jaw that can often be treated with intervention therapy. Common symptoms include popping and clicking sounds on mouth opening as well as frequent jaw pain. Many people often experience headaches and muscle tension in their head and neck area that may be connected to joint problems. We will perform a complete head and neck evaluation and clinical exam so that we can offer you the best treatment.
Fresh Breath Treatment
If you often struggle with bad breath we would like to help you solve this problem. Chronic halitosis is a serious strain on your social life and self esteem. We were one of the first offices in the Dallas Fort Worth community to establish an organized program and therapy specifically diagnosing and treating breath malodor. Bohannan Dentistry utilizes the latest technology that allows us to monitor the intensity of bad breath and guides us to develop a treatment plan to eliminate the cause.
